Ice on the Moon Scientists announced that there may be some water near the south pole of the moon. A military satellite, Clementine, beamed radar waves to different parts of the lunar surface and this particular area gave back a signal suggesting that water was there. Next October, a spacecraft will be launched to orbit the moon in order to confirm or contradict this evidence. close
