The Creative Coalition held a forum at Sardi’s Restaurant to discuss solutions to campaign finance reform in a time of enormous campaign contributions and fears of influence-buying. It was suggested that Congress must pass legislation which will close current loopholes and reduce the influence of special interests. Two proposals coming before Congress this year would ban all “soft money” contributions. Several panelists criticized the U.S. Supreme Court for decisions which equate campaign spending with free speech. Following their prepared remarks, coalition members took questions from the audience. close
