Committee members heard testimony from Bill Richardson, a member of the House since 1983 and President Clinton’s United Nations ambassador nominee. Rep. Richardson was supported by Senators Domenici and Bingaman of New Mexico and Reps. Gilman, Hamilton, Menendez. Rep.
