Committee members heard testimony from Bill Richardson, a member of the House since 1983 and President Clinton’s United Nations ambassador nominee. Rep. Richardson was supported by Senators Domenici and Bingaman of New Mexico and Reps. Gilman, Hamilton, Menendez. Rep. Richardson was questioned about U.S. arrearages in its payment of dues to the United Nations and also about his House votes on Cuban issues. close
