German Chancellor Helmut Kohl and the opposition leader Rudolph Scharping spoke about a recent agreement with the Czech Republic. The previous week, the German and Czech governments signed a joint declaration of responsibility for past wrongs done by both nations. Germany occupied Czechoslovakia in 1938 and 1939 and after World War II many ethnic Germans were forcibly removed from Czechoslovakia. Translation from English to German was by voiceover. close
