In their final session for the 1997 winter meeting, governors heard from Mr. Reiner, Dr. Perry and Mr. Hamburg on early childhood cognitive development and from Mr. Walsh on the need for a victims' rights amendment. Mr. Reiner is leading the Early Childhood Engagement Campaign, which is seeking support for education beginning at birth, and is producing a television show on the issue to be aired on ABC in April. close
