The National Urban League sponsored an event on education. Panelists at the event discussed the challenges facing U.S. education, especially of urban residents. They stressed the need for educators, parents and other adults to help children gain the ability to meet new standards which will be required in a new economy and to broadly implement those programs which have proven effective in test areas. After their individual presentations the panelists discussed these issues in a moderated conversation and then took questions from the audience. close
