Ms. Jill Abramson, Washington Deputy Bureau Chief for the Wall Street Journal, talked about the ethical questions raised when journalists receive large honoraria. She argued that journalists should not accept speaking fees or other favors from for-profit groups or groups they cover. She said that if journalists do not regulate themselves, Congress will soon do so. Following her prepared remarks, she took questions from the audience. close
