President Clinton and other top administration officials announced the implementation of new FDA regulations on tobacco sale to minors. They stood in front of a group of children wearing shirts with “Campaign for Tobacco- Free Kids” on them. Store owners must now require identification from anyone who looks younger than 27 to purchase tobacco products. In his remarks, the president stressed that communal efforts by parents, retailers and others is needed to teach young people the dangers of tobacco. close
