Vice President Al Gore responded to an article by Bob Woodward in Sunday’s Washington Post, concerning his direct solicitation of campaign contributions during the recent election cycle. He stressed that although he had broken no laws, he would no longer conduct such calls from his office or his home. He repeatedly stated that there was “no controlling legal authority” which indicates that these calls violated any laws. He took questions from the press. close
