Rep. Kasich reacted to a Congressional Budget Office analysis released earlier in the day which concludes that the president’s budget will reach a $69 billion deficit in 2002, not a $17 billion surplus as the White House claims. He stated that the president should send Congress another budget proposal which is balanced according to CBO estimates and that Republicans will not begin any serious negotiations until he does so. close
