In a moot court format, the participants debated the constitutionality of the Communications Decency Act, the first federal law to make it illegal to transmit certain kinds of sexually explicit material over the Internet. A three-judge panel in Philadelphia ruled the law unconstitutional shortly after it went into effect last year. The U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in the case on Wednesday. close
