Crime Victims' Rights Amendment Janet Reno and John Walsh were among the witnesses to testify before the committee on a proposed constitutional amendment to protect the rights of violent crime victims. The committee supports an amendment, which would give victims the opportunity to be present at court and parole proceedings, to be heard at sentencing and to be notified about release or escape. Attorney General Reno said that President Clinton supports this constitutional amendment. Victims of violent crime testified in favor of the amendment. close
