Author James Bill talked about his new book, George Ball: Behind the Scenes in U.S. Foreign Policy, which traced Ball’s strong influence in U.S. foreign policy from the 1940s to the 1990s. Bill also talked about his experiences in writing the book, hindered by his own chronic illness. Arthur Schlesinger talked about George Ball’s career and about Mr. Bill’s book as an analytical biography. Former Secretary Blumenthal described his friendship with George Ball. After their prepared remarks, they took questions from the audience. close
