Panelists discussed whether pre-election polls should be prohibited. They examined whether polls influence voter behavior and if a ban is the only solution to the problems created by polls. Sir Ray Powell had introduced legislation in the House of Commons to ban polls as soon as elections are announced. This was part of a symposium on polling issues. close
