Panelists talked about events of great impact on U.S. society since World War II, which included the Cold War, the Vietnam conflict and the fall of Communism and the end of the Cold War. Each panelist made an individual presentation on their impressions of the post Cold War era and then participated in a discussion about the issues raised in the presentations. Following their discussion, panelists took questions from the audience. After the panel, Professor Arthur Schlesinger thanked all of the participants and gave his impressions of the conference. close
