Mr. Patterson spoke about his book, Grand Expectations: The United States, 1945-1974. The book reviews the evolution of America from the end of World War II to the downfall of President Nixon and the great economic prosperity and expectations of the nation in between. He stayed with the central theme of extraordinary optimism and how that view prevailed by the end of the 1940s onward.
