From Hempstead, New York, Hofstra University held the Gerald Ford Symposium Seventh Presidential Conference entitled “Assuming the Presidency.” Professor Stephan Ambrose, Director University of New Orleans, the Eisenhower Center delivered a paper titled “The Nixon Ford Relationship". Professor Stanley Kutler delivered a paper titled "Clearing the Rubble: The Nixon Pardon". Among the discussants, Robert Hartmann is the author of "Palace Politics: An Inside Account of the Ford Years” and Bob Woodward is the author of “All the President’s Men” and “The Final Days.” Panelists answered audience questions. close
