Telephone lines were open for comments on the U.S. Supreme Court rulings on same-sex marriage.*Earlier that day the Court invalidated a provision of the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) that denied benefits to legally married gay couples.*Also, the Supreme Court cleared the way to resume same-sex marriages in California by denying standing to the defenders of Proposition 8.*
