Senate Finance Committee members heard testimony from administration officials on whether the U.S. should renew China’s most favored nation trading status as the president has requested. They expressed their support for trade with China as a way toward bringing about change in Chinese domestic and foreign policies. Then a panel of representatives of various groups on both sides of the issue testified about why they support either position. close
