National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) members discussed the latest safety recommendations for air bags and seat belts and heard testimony from NTSB experts. The recommendations resulted from a symposium conducted by the NTSB in March and focused on four areas: changing attitudes about seat belt usage, better evaluation of seat belt usage and air bag effectiveness and better air bag design. In the second portion of the meeting, they discussed their final report on the grounding of the Star Princess in Alaska. close
