President Bill Clinton and others marked the 25th anniversary of the passage of Title IX, which guaranteed equal access to sports opportunities at schools which receive federal funds. In his remarks, the president spoke about the importance of equality of opportunity and stressed that enforcement of Title IX would be increased. President Clinton also signed an executive order which would make this law applicable to Native American and military schools. close
