Michael Graetz talked about The Decline (and Fall) of the Income Tax. In his new book he examines why the federal income tax has come under such disrepute and disrepair over the past 25 years. He stressed that although selfishness and anti-government sentiment are important factors, changes in the tax code itself are primarily why the federal income tax is perceived as unfair. After his remarks, he took questions from the audience. close
