British Handgun Ban Debate
After the second reading, members debate a bill which would outlaw possession of handguns in the United Kingdom. It extended a law which outlawed all handguns except .22 or lower caliber weapons which had to be stored at gun clubs. They also debated how this legislation would be implemented.
The House passed the measure by a 384 to 181 vote.
