After the news conference by Representative Bob Livingston (R-LA) and Representative Ben Cardin (D-MD) on the Ethics Task Force, Representative Bill Thomas (R-CA), the chair of the House Oversight Committee and the only member of the House Ethics Reform Task Force who voted against the report, explained to reporters why he is opposed to the changes recommended by the House Ethics Reform Task Force. Some of his objections included the way members can bring evidence to the Ethics Committee and resolution of Ethics Committee investigations. close
