Reverend Jesse Jackson, Founder and President of the Rainbow/ Push Coalition, and representatives of several other minority organizations, including the National Coalition For Homelessness & Poverty and The National Puerto Rican Coalition, announced a new initiative to promote greater social justice. He urged the president to act on several issues including, funding for poverty programs and civil rights enforcement. They also took questions from the press and commented on the president’s race initiative. close
