Pauline Baker, the Senior Associate at the Carnegie Endowment for Peace, spoke at a Washington Center sponsored event. Baker’s speech focused on U.S. policy on and current issues within South Africa. The speech came on the heels of the resignation of South African president P.W. Botha. At the time of the speech South Africa’s regime enforced policies of racial segregation called Apartheid. Baker took questions from the audience of primarily college students. close
