President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore release the White House report on fostering Internet commerce. The president announced that there would be no tariffs on trade conducted over the Internet. Mr. Louis Gerstner, IBM CEO, described the benefits of trade over the Internet and Ms. Macdara MacCole, Managing Director of Parent Soup, talked about the abilities of smaller businesses to compete on a more level playing field on the Internet. close
