Robert McChesney, a professor at the University of Wisconsin, talked about media monopolies and their impact on democracy. He is the author of several books on the subject. Mr. McChesney said that in the most recent study, ten firms control the entirety of media outlets in the United States and that this amounts to a cartel which could be “disastrous” to democracy. close
