Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) spoke to members of the Republican National Committee. He spoke about the Supreme Court case, Buckley v. Valeo, and stressed that the freedom to raise money to facilitate political speech should be protected under the First Amendment. He also criticized campaign finance reform advocates and the media for trying to take away people’s rights in this area. He also stated that this was the most important issue in U.S. politics. close
