Mr. Chase talked about the role of the National Education Association in improving public education to provide the foundation for urban economic renewal. Mr. Lewis talked briefly about his bank’s efforts to provide capital for minority businesses. Awards were also presented to four business executives. This was part of the 1997 National Urban League conference on economic power and civil rights. close
