After the line-item veto signing, White House budget officials briefed reporters on the details of the three provisions of the budget bill vetoed by the president. The measures included New York state Medicaid reimbursement, tax shelters for financial services companies and capital gains for agribusiness. They also talked about the procedures and reasons for selecting these three bills. After their comments, White House Press Secretary Mike McCurry answered reporters' questions on other issues.
