The National Gambling Impact Study Commission held its second meeting. This portion featured public comment from about 40 witnesses on the pros and cons of gambling. The members were appointed by the president and Congress to investigate the social and economic impacts of gambling. The commission had two years and $5 million dollars to use in issuing its report. close
