President Bill Clinton commented on the Census Bureau annual report on income, poverty and health insurance coverage which was released earlier today. The report showed a 1.2 percent rise in real family income to $35,242. This was the third year in a row that the median income has risen. He also talked about the $500-per-child tax credit and other programs. He said that African-American poverty has fallen to its lowest level. After his comments, he took questions on campaign finance issues. close
