The Senate Commerce Committee heard from the nominees for the commissioner positions for the FCC. A total of four new members are awaiting confirmation and it is the first time since the FCC’s inception in 1934 that this amount of nominees are in waiting. The three nominees testifying during this hearing indicated that competition rather than heavy regulation is the best way to keep cable and telephone prices in check. close
