President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, and US Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin held a news conference to release proposed changes to IRS operations. The changes were proposed by a Presidential task force. The changes would improved taxpayer recourse against IRS abuses and more outside oversight of the agency. They also stressed their support for IRS employees and their longstanding efforts to reform the IRS. close
