The continuation of the SENATE GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE CAMPAIGN FUND-RAISING INVESTIGATION heard testimony from Harold Ickes, former White House Deputy Chief-of-Staff regarding his role in raising money for the Clinton presidential campaign in 1996. Mr. Ickes explained his job in the White House, his responsibilities concerning the campaign, the types of campaign fund-raising events the president attended, and his input into the president’s daily schedule. Mr. Ickes also answered questions about an alleged illegal contribution scheme involving the White House and the Teamsters Union he said he knew nothing of any illegal contribution plans involving the Teamsters. close
