Mr. Ash talked about his new book, The File: A Personal History, published by Random House. It is based on the file which the East German secret police, the Stasi, kept about him as he traveled in East Germany. He said that he had also interviewed the Stasi officers who observed him and kept the file. After his prepared remarks, he took questions from the audience. close
