President Bill Clinton and President Jiang Zemin exchanged toasts during the state dinner held in President Jiang’s honor. The Chinese president is visiting the United States and has talked with President Clinton about a number of issues relating to trade and other relations between the two nations. President Clinton praised the Chinese leader’s interest in history and his interest in good relations with the United States. President Clinton plans to go to China next year. close
