President Bill Clinton commemorated Veterans Day by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The tomb contains the remains of soldiers from World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Following the wreath laying, the president took part in a ceremony at the cemetery’s amphitheater. President Clinton praised the veterans for their “gift of service” and said it was their courage and willingness to serve that has kept the United States free and prosperous. close
