Panelists debated whether the U.S. economy is structured in a democratic way. David Frum, Senior Fellow, Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, and Stuart Butler, Vice President of Domestic Policy at the Heritage Foundation argued in the affirmative, and Professor Cornel West, Harvard University, Afro-American Studios, and Barbara Ehrenreich, Columnist, Time Magazine argued in the negative. Each participant gave an individual presentation which was followed by a rebuttal period. Following that, the audience asked questions of the panelists. close
