President Clinton signed the FDA Modernization Act of 1997. In his remarks, the president stressed the vice president’s and his administration’s commitment to reforming government agencies and FDA reforms already made since 1993. He also emphasized that this legislation was amazingly bi-partisan and would accelerate the process and allow new medical devices and treatments to the market even more quickly. close
