History professor Seymour Drescher and Tocqueville discussion series director Marilyn Crouch-Kraitchman provided background on Alexis de Tocqueville before members of the Vintage Retirement Community, Ellis School students and others examined Tocqueville’s trip through the United States in 1831-32 and his observations about America in his book, Democracy in America.
