Mr. David Anderson, Canadian Minister of Fisheries & Oceans, spoke about the state of negotiations over salmon between the U.S. and Canada. Fisherman from both nations accuse their counterparts of overfishing the areas in international waters before they reach Canadian or U.S. streams. Last July Canadian fishermen prevented a U.S. ferry from leaving British Columbia. Mr. Anderson is in Washington for talks with U.S. governmental and environmental group leaders.
