Iran-Contra Investigation Day 38 Regan testifies that he was generally aware of the Iran initiative but that he was not aware of diversion of arms sale profits to the contras. He describes President Reagan as being shocked when he found out about the diversion. Regan was criticized by the Tower Commission for confusion in the White House over the Iran initiative. He resigned after the report was released in February 1987. close
