In the third day second part of public hearings on the TWA flight 800 crash, testimony focused on possible ignition sources for the explosion. Witnesses discussed the possible internal ignition sources, such as copper sulfide deposits, and short circuits in several aircraft systems. The witnesses testified about their tests on aircraft wiring, especially system in or adjacent to the fuel tank. Boeing officials also stated that they are advising operators of 747s to inspect their wiring on fuel-measuring components during regularly scheduled maintenance.
