Food Safety in the U.S.
Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman talked about his department’s role in ensuring U.S. food safety and reforms of the meat and poultry inspection system. He also talked about food safety techniques in the industry and recent problems with meat contamination. Dr. Michael Friedman, Food and Drug Administration lead deputy commissioner, later joined the discussion. This was a new series featuring college journalists from the District of Columbia area. close
