Energy Secretary Federico Pena briefed reporters on the release of previously classified information about the U.S. nuclear weapons program. He stressed that the Department of Energy is releasing many more documents, mostly via the Internet, is regulating how it decides to classify or declassify information and is making it easier for employees to talk about problems within the department. He stressed that this would make important information about nuclear weapons' impact on local communities more accessible. close
