Participants discussed a recent report on the financial problems with the Medicare program. The council is releasing the third in a series of papers on the future of Medicare, this one focusing on long-term solvency for the program. The proposal suggests more privatization and consumer to choice to help control costs and provide quality care by creating individual medical savings accounts for Medicare beneficiaries. They also took questions from reporters. close
