A final amendment to the Democratic Party Draft Platform was put forth with language implying that Hillary Clinton is the official nominee of the Democratic Party. Sanders supporters cried foul, arguing that the nominee is not to be decided by the platform committe, but by the actions of the Democratic Party National Convention. Angry shouts rang out calling for the amendment to be withdrawn. After a short recess, the amendment was withdrawn. But the damage had been done, leaving the Democratic Party divided as it heads toward the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. close
