So are you saying that Ron Chernow's biography is not accurate? Nancy G. Isenberg Yes, there are errors in it. He takes on this role of constantly trying to defend Hamilton and push him in a direction that is ignoring things that need to be addressed about Hamilton, as in the case of slavery. He wants to sort of -- and you see that in the musical, where Jefferson is portrayed as a slave owner and Hamilton is being portrayed as more progressive, as more of an abolitionist and it's just not true. close
